High-strength alloys

For maximum protection against breaking and entering, Palladio uses modern elongation steel grades of the type used in motor racing. Also known as »crash steel«, the material can undergo extensive deformation without breaking. At the same time, the steel becomes extremely strain-hardened. If a burglar attempts to break in, the cylinder »melts« into the lock and the door can no longer be opened.

Modern titanium alloys and ceramic locking pins are used to prevent attempted break-ins using power drills.
